“His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’ Matthew 25:23
Dr. Samuel was a faithful servant that inspired those around him to live a life worthy of the calling. It was evident that he walked closely with His Savior by the way he followed Him whole heartedly, cared for lost in his community, and loved the church. Many TTI leaders and students had the privilege of learning and growing under his leadership, and they all say the same thing: that he was a shining example of love and humility. They recall how, at the first graduation in their area, he took the responsibility of washing the TTI leaders feet. But he did not stop there. He also washed the feet of all the graduates! They were humbled that this incredible leader, who deserved to be respected and served, chose to serve those around him. He truly “walked the walk” and was a reflection of Jesus to the world around him.
Dr. Samuel loved his wife, his children, and his ministry and service to God. He lived a life worthy of his calling and is an example for all of us today, to imitate, just as he imitated Christ! (1 Cor. 11:1). It was an honor and privilege to serve the Lord together with TTI. As we reflect on his life, may each of us look to live a life that counts for eternity the way in which he did! While we grieve this loss, we rejoice that Dr. Samuel now sees our Savior face to face. He undoubtedly heard the words that we all long to hear–“Well done, good and faithful servant…Come and share your Master’s happiness!”
