Christy Lawler was an Intern with TTI this past summer, and spend a few months working and Living at Grace Home. She has decided to put on a special show to Help support these same girls this Thursday night only!
Where: Palm Beach Atlantic University (Upstairs Weyenburg on Okeechobee & S. Olive)
When: December 10th, 7:30pm
The cause: In East Asia there are thirteen little girls who live in a place called Grace Home. The reasons why they live there: Because their parents are infected with HIV or AIDS they are unable to care for them. Often, the girls would beg for food in order to survive and most of them lived in abusive environments. A woman named Lisa, with the support of TTI started this home in order to not only keep these girls alive, but give them hope, love and future through the Grace of Jesus Christ.
The show: Each of the girls’ stories will be told through some form of performing arts such as dance, song, poetry, drama, etc. Many of the performers are PBA students and each performer has been living with these girls’ stories for the past few months so as to discover how best to tell them.
The art: There will be paintings, drawings and mixed media pictures of the girls to be sold the the highest bidder (A silent auction). There will also be smaller things such as crocheted headbands, handmade jewelry, handmade journals (with a girl’s story inside), Christmas ornaments, and more to be sold at a lower, fixed price.
The funds: All the funds raised WILL be going to the girls at Grace Home for various needs such as school books, clothing, food, and maybe some Christmas presents. Please plan ahead and bring cash with you! This is a great opportunity to buy your friends and family some unique things for Christmas while helping these sweet, deserving girls at the same time.
